LF03 — Solar Fold explores the idea of radiating energy and folded light.
The carved lines expand outward from a quiet center, like light spreading across a surface and folding into shadow.
As lighting changes, the surface produces shifting gradients of light and shadow, creating depth and a sense of expansion within a fixed form.
Each piece is carved from solid American cherry using a hybrid digital and hand-finishing process.
CNC carving defines the structure, while hand-finishing refines the surface and transitions.
Because each piece is made from natural wood and finished by hand, variations in grain, tone, and texture are to be expected and are part of the work itself.
